...Christmas is near.
Since I see no reason to duplicate content, I've decided to share pages
from a tiny, secondary site of mine,
Shadows in the Midnight Garden. The content did appear on the Original Parlor website at one
point. I decided to move non-Mayfair Witches content to a separate
site. One such page,
Hollywood Goes to Indiana, is one of them.
On this page, I go a bit into some of the real-life inspirations for the
story Jean Shepherd wrote that was included in the book
In God We Trust...All Others Pay Cash. This story was the basis
for the 1983 film A Christmas Story.
Do I watch the film every year at Christmas? Oh, YES!!! My
generation grew up with this film, and it's just as funny now as it was when
we were kids. Since I am utterly fascinated by autobiographical things
in fiction, the historical part was right up my alley. If you are
curious about this aspect of the film, perhaps the page linked above will
give you a basic start.
And it gets dark a lot earlier during the winter...lemme fix that. You
can also click the lamp to go straight to Hollywood Goes to Indiana.
